Terms of Service

Welcome to Shortlist.ai (“Shortlist,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Shortlist.ai platform, including our website at shortlist-ai.io, Notion workspace templates, Claude skills and agent configurations, documentation, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By purchasing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Shortlist.ai is a career intelligence platform that provides AI-powered job search tools including career profile systems, automated campaign pipelines, strategic positioning frameworks, and interview preparation coaches. The Service is delivered through a combination of Notion workspace templates, Claude AI skill configurations, and supporting documentation.

2. Account and Access

To use Shortlist.ai, you need: (a) a paid Shortlist.ai license, (b) a Claude Pro subscription from Anthropic ($20/month, purchased separately), (c) a Notion account (free or paid), and (d) a Google Drive account. We are not affiliated with Anthropic, Notion, or Google, and are not responsible for the availability, pricing, or terms of their services.

Your license is personal and non-transferable. You may not share, resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to any third party.

3. Pricing, Payment, and Refunds

Founding Rate. The current founding rate is $149 USD, a one-time payment. This rate is available to the first 50 customers (“Founding 50”). After all Founding 50 spots are filled, the standard price is $297 USD.

Grandfathering. Founding 50 members are grandfathered into their purchase price for life. All current and future features, agents, and upgrades are included at no additional cost.

Pioneer Tester Pricing. From time to time, we may offer discounted “Pioneer Tester” rates for specific experimental features. Pioneer pricing is separate from the core product and governed by the terms presented at the time of purchase.

Refund Policy. We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If you are not satisfied with the Service, email hello@shortlist-ai.io within 14 days for a full refund. No questions asked. You may keep any documents generated during the trial period.

4. Intellectual Property

4a. Our Intellectual Property

The Service — including but not limited to the career profile system architecture (“Context Vault”), the Bold Plays framework and its component strategies (Trojan Horse, Warm Path, Signal Amplifier), the Company Intelligence Framework, the Authenticity Engine and Communication DNA system, all Claude skill configurations (SKILL.md files and related prompt engineering), all agent orchestration logic, scoring algorithms, and the proprietary compound intelligence architecture — is protected by copyright, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

“Bold Plays,” “Context Vault,” “Communication DNA,” “Shortlist.ai,” and related marks are trademarks of Shortlist.ai (pending registration). You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

4b. What You May Not Do

  • No reverse engineering. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source logic, prompt engineering, skill configurations, scoring algorithms, or agent architecture of the Service.
  • No redistribution. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, or create derivative works based on the Service's templates, skill files, agent configurations, or system architecture, whether in whole or in part.
  • No competing products. You may not use the Service or any of its components (including architectural patterns, prompt structures, or framework designs) to build, train, or inform a competing product or service.
  • No scraping or automated extraction. You may not use automated tools to extract, copy, or catalog the Service's content, templates, or configurations.

4c. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all personal data, career information, resumes, cover letters, and other content you create using the Service (“Your Content”). We do not claim any ownership rights over Your Content. You may export, copy, and use Your Content for any lawful purpose.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Misrepresent your identity or qualifications in materials generated by the Service
  • Share your account credentials with any third party
  • Attempt to circumvent any access controls or usage limitations
  • Use the Service to generate content that is fraudulent, misleading, or harmful

6. Disclaimers

No employment guarantee. The Service is a career intelligence tool, not an employment agency. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in job interviews, offers, or employment. Career outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.

AI-generated content. The Service uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to generate content. While we design our systems to produce high-quality, authentic output, you are responsible for reviewing and editing all generated content before use. We are not responsible for errors, inaccuracies, or misrepresentations in AI-generated output.

Third-party services. The Service depends on third-party platforms (Anthropic, Notion, Google). We are not responsible for changes, outages, or discontinuation of these services, though we will make reasonable efforts to adapt to platform changes.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHORTLIST.AI'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, particularly the intellectual property and acceptable use provisions. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately, but you retain ownership of Your Content.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address associated with your purchase. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
